Colour Temperature

Colour temperature is measured in Kelvin (K) – the lower the number, the warmer the white light appears, while a higher Kelvin will appear cooler. Colour temperature generally ranges from 2700-3300K (warm) to 3300-5300 (cool) – and 6500K is daylight.

Equivalent Wattages Between Different Light Bulbs

As long as the technology developed, a LED light bulb can only use 8 watt power but light up similar brightness when a incandescent light bulb uses 60 watt power. There is equivalent wattage between different light bulbs. To stop making confuse, you need to know what wattage equivalent to each other. See the table attached as below.

This Philips PAR38 yellow incandescent reflector light bulb brings coloured illumination to compatible feature lights, decorative displays and entertainment spaces. Its textured yellow front lens and reflector body suit applications where a yellow floodlight effect is preferred to general white lighting.

This listing offers SKU options 339966 and 762976, with 80W per bulb rather than a two-bulb pack. The bulb has an E27 cap, 240V operation and dimensions of 123mm diameter by 137mm length. Check the selected version, fitting rating and heat clearance before ordering. The bulb is new; the retail carton is compressed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this Philips yellow PAR38 80W bulb be dimmed?

The existing specifications identify this bulb as dimmable. Use a dimmer suitable for incandescent lamps and check its minimum and maximum connected load. Each bulb draws 80W, so include the combined wattage when several lamps share a control. Compatibility is not guaranteed with LED-only controls or every dimmer.

Will this yellow PAR38 bulb fit my outdoor floodlight?

Check the selected lamp's voltage marking against the fitting and supply, an E27 socket, an incandescent rating of at least 80W and clearance for the listed 123 x 137mm dimensions. The existing listing specifies 240V, but that rating is not independently confirmed by these packaging views. Outdoor use requires a suitable watertight lampholder and a heat-resistant rubber flange between lamp and holder, following fitting instructions. Outdoor-use wording on a carton does not make the whole installation weatherproof. Switch off power and let the lamp cool before replacement.

Do both SKU options have a 30-degree beam, and is this a warm white lamp?

This is a yellow incandescent feature lamp, not a warm white LED. The previous 2700K white-light specification has been removed. The listing offers SKU options 339966 and 762976; the photos include Partytone Economy packaging and a different Philips carton marked 30-degree beam angle. The images do not establish which carton belongs to each SKU, so confirm the selected version before relying on a 30-degree beam. Selecting a SKU does not mean both versions are supplied.

Excellent customer service

These globes are hard to find now so I order 3 from Double Bay Hardware NSW (I live in Vic). Unfortunately one globe did not work when I tested it on arrival. I messaged them and a replacement globe was sent out the next day. Really appreciated their excellent customer service.
