Do not select this 240V bulb for 120V equipment simply because the cap fits. Check the fitting's voltage, maximum incandescent wattage, ventilation and shade clearance before purchase. When dimming, check the control's incandescent-lamp rating and minimum and maximum connected load; a single 25W bulb may fall below the minimum load. Switch off the power and allow the bulb to cool before replacement.
