Frequently Asked Questions

What types of garden hand tools do you stock?

We stock a full range of garden hand tools including secateurs, pruning saws, bow saws, hedge shears, shovels, spades, trowels, hand weeders, cultivators, axes, hatchets, mattocks, leaf rakes, garden hoes, loppers, and tree pruners from trusted brands like Cyclone, Fiskars, Bahco, and Spear & Jackson.

What is the difference between bypass and anvil secateurs?

Bypass secateurs have two curved blades that pass each other like scissors, making clean cuts ideal for live stems and green wood. Anvil secateurs have one straight blade that cuts against a flat anvil, which is better suited for dry or dead wood but can crush soft stems.

What shovel or spade should I use for my garden?

A round mouth shovel is best for digging and moving loose soil or mulch. A square mouth spade is better for edging garden beds, cutting through turf, and transplanting. For heavy clay soils, look for a forged steel head with a long hardwood or fibreglass handle for added strength.

Do you stock long-reach pruning tools for tall trees?

Yes. We stock long-reach tree pruners and loppers designed for cutting overhead branches without the need for a ladder. These are ideal for fruit trees, ornamental trees, and tall hedges.

Are your garden tools suitable for Australian conditions?

Yes. All garden hand tools we stock are selected for durability in Australian soil conditions, including heavy clay, sandy soils, and rocky ground. We carry tools from brands with proven performance in Australian gardens and landscaping environments.

Expect good results from this silver cleaner

Old tried and true polish that my grandmother used to clean her silver. I have tried other brands and I have found Goddard to be the best.

Scissors you will use for multiple tasks

These small scissors are so handy they should be in everyone’s utensil drawer. They are great for unpicking stitches, trimming off dead leaves and buds on plants and doing absolutely any job that requires a small blade. I love them I had a pair that I lost and now I have replaced them.

Great to find quality dish mops

Great to find quality dish mops. They aren’t easy to locate. Do the fragile and non-dishwasher items well. Can recommend this item.
