Colour Temperature

Colour temperature is measured in Kelvin (K) – the lower the number, the warmer the white light appears, while a higher Kelvin will appear cooler. Colour temperature generally ranges from 2700-3300K (warm) to 3300-5300 (cool) – and 6500K is daylight.

Equivalent Wattages Between Different Light Bulbs

As long as the technology developed, a LED light bulb can only use 8 watt power but light up similar brightness when a incandescent light bulb uses 60 watt power. There is equivalent wattage between different light bulbs. To stop making confuse, you need to know what wattage equivalent to each other. See the table attached as below.

Focused 18° Beam

235 lumens of 3000K warm white light with CRI 100.

12V BA15d Halogen

20W aluminium reflector lamp with a 37mm diameter and 2,000-hour rated life.

⚠️ Important: This is a 12V low voltage bulb and requires a compatible 12V transformer or power supply. It will not work with standard 240V mains voltage.

The Philips Aluline Pro aluminium reflector halogen light bulb delivers a focused 18° beam with a maximum luminous intensity of 1,500 candela. Its 235-lumen output, 3000K warm white light and CRI 100 support natural colour rendering in directional lighting.

This 20W lamp has a BA15d double-contact bayonet base, a 37mm reflector diameter and a maximum length of 41mm. Use it in equipment specified for this voltage, wattage, base and size, with the required ventilation and heat clearance. Keep the lamp at least 0.5m from illuminated objects.

Frequently Asked Questions

What supply and dimmer does this lamp require?

Use a compatible 12V transformer or power supply. For dimming, use a dimmable transformer and a halogen dimmer compatible with it. Each lamp draws 20W; keep the total load within both devices' minimum and maximum ratings. Do not connect the lamp directly to 240V mains.

What fitting and clearance does this bulb need?

Match the equipment specification to the BA15d double-contact bayonet base, 12V supply, 20W rating, 37mm diameter and maximum 41mm length. Follow the equipment's ventilation and heat-clearance requirements. Keep the lamp at least 0.5m from illuminated objects.

What is the difference between 1,500cd and 235lm?

The 1,500cd rating is maximum luminous intensity in a particular direction; 235lm is total light output. This lamp directs its 3000K warm white light through an 18° beam and has CRI 100. It is a halogen lamp, not an LED.
